Is it weird to meet fishermen villages at the altitude of 850m above sea level?
Or to meet the ‘sea’ a few kilometers from a ski resort?
Yes it is…it is true that you can meet that perfect combination at the Prefecture of Florina!!!
Day 1: Departure early in the evening from Thessaloniki in direction to the traditional hostel where we will stay at night.
Visiting the traditional settlements of the area that surrounds the two lakes.
We will observe the local fauna and flora and also visit the small island of St. Achille which is the refuge to many bird species.
Our next visit is at Nymphaio village and the environmental park of “Arcturos” where we will be informed about the bear protection programs. We will walk at the tracks and paths of bears and wolves. Leaving Nymphaio and heading towards Lake Zazari,aboarding on canoes for a wonderful tour into the heart of the lake.
